Ineke - When I was commuting between Portsmouth and Southampton it was quite noticeable how much colder Southampton Central was compared to Fratton station. I'm not entirely convinced Southampton is on the coast, coastal yes but not on the coast anything like Portsmouth or Bournemouth. I had a car down in Portsmouth a good few times but even when I didn't it was unusual to see cars frosted up down Stansted Road. I’m not entirely convinced Southampton is on the coast, coastal yes but not on the coast anything like Portsmouth or Bournemouth.

I'm sat in my house in Southampton with a hoodie, a jumper and shoes on! The coast is just as bad (if you can call Southampton coastal - it can't decide where it is I think!). Cold in-land?
