This evenings plan

So this evening Ben, Kita and I are going to be checking out Reading Vineyard Church.

I’m hoping and praying that this will feel more like the kind of place we can call home for the year. I want it to feel like King's did the first time I went there all those years ago, well a couple of years ago. It felt comfortable and there were people who I connected with and it felt like the people at King’s wanted to connect, to help newbies get going in Portsmouth.

Greyfriars didn’t feel like that. The people were plenty nice enough but that spark wasn’t there. They didn’t seem to have much on for students and whilst I don’t really feel like one at the moment it is probably the people group I have the most in common with.

One thing that has surprised me about Reading is that none of the Churches seem particularly plugged into the students here. There aren’t any places listed with Fusion (connects students to Churches) which for a big place with two universities is quite strange to say the least. Kita suggested that it could be the CU’s of the uni’s are very good and the need isn’t there but I’m still quite surprised.

Anyway, expect a report this evening! Now the Belgium Grand Prix, looks like it’s going to be a good one.
