One step closer to the Internet

23rd July

So the BT engineer visited our place yesterday and from what I understand from Kita, took a look at the master socket, plugged his phone in and declared all was fine. The thing is the utility people we’re with (not entirely through choice but that’s another rant) are going to try and charge us for a new line, that would be fine if an engineer had had to put some cable in or at least do something for more than 2 minutes.

From what I was originally told an engineer would have to come out to determine if it was a reconnection or new line, seems either that step was skipped or just missed out or the people who arranged it all (the joy that is our letting agents) made it up (seems there quite good at this last bit).

So today the utility warehouse are going to call me with hopefully a BT report in their hand and try and explain how they charge £99 for 2 minutes work and miss out one step of the whole process, yeah, this is going to be fun.

On the plus side we now have a landline and given that Orange don’t seem to have a great signal at ours this will probably get some use other than for broadband.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
