Well I spent a fair chunk of the bank holiday in Eastleigh today; patching in a company who I’d been moving on Friday. I would have thought, having had a pretty manic weekend, that working today would have been the last sensible thing to do as I start on this home straight for the 30th May but it seems its had the opposite effect.
In all honesty I’ve been getting a little bored of computers the last few weeks, excluding installing the latest Ubuntu. I think most of it is stemming from having to do what is required by the course etc rather than playing and doing what I like (there’s some more blog type things mainly). It would seem I need to learn patience at the moment, to knuckle down and then come June/July/Reading I’ll have the evening free to do what I like (excluding wedding planning I guess but then all being well that will be something I want to do).
Guess to an extent that also explains the lack of blogging, just haven’t felt like being attached to a keyboard really.
Well, work today has somewhat cleared that, patching all the equipment in and checking it all and the satisfaction of it working, I think it’s cleared my head a little and helped me to enjoy computing again, rather than just being frustrated with it!
There’s one project I quite fancy now and that’s to get a slightly larger/nicer monitor for the Mac Mini (something along the lines of a 22″ widescreen) and build a Shuttle PC for Ubuntu, I’ve a feeling that my laptop really isn’t doing the OS justice. Hopefully I’ll be able to do this once settled into Reading. Mostly it’s going to depend on finances, saving for this wedding’s going to be hard and whilst I’ll be earning more than I ever have before I’m just going to have to remember to save first.
