Network Engineering

12th March

Been thinking this for a couple of days but yesterday really confirmed it. I think you know when you really, really start to get into network engineering when you get excited about this kind of thing and buy one instantly. Then when your friends by them all as well, then you know you’re in good company.

Equally when you start bidding on switches and think about VLAN’s and subnetting your house. Or perhaps a Demilitarized zone (DMZ) for the little server you’ve built with Sharepoint and VMWare on.

Sad, definitely but it’s soo cool!

Hey Dan – if you want to see just how amazing Linux can look, go download the beta of Sabayon 3.5 loop 1. I downloaded the 64 bit version last weekend, and although it’s not stable, it is truly stunning to look at compared with Mandriva et al. It’s quite tempting to try to run that as a dual boot, it’s so impressive.

Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard and I have come in response to them."
